Embarkation Lists

To Distant Shores

The Embarkation Lists have been extracted from the Roll of Honour.

They comprise all embarkations from the 1st Echelon (to March 1940) through to the last (July 1945 through to June 1948). There are 16 Nominal Rolls.

Again, to assist with your research, I have also included aliases where these markedly differ from the names as shown in the rolls and married names for women who married (whether during or after the war). 1. I am the daughter of Colin Moore Wilson, 30949, whose rank on the downloaded spreadsheet shows at exit of service to be Sgt. He was Sgt when he was awarded the British Empire Medal, but went on to become the rank of WO2 at exit of service. I would appreciate that this correction be made to the spreadsheet.
Thank you Dale for your devotion to this project. I’m very proud of my father’s service in WW2.

      Hello Beatrice.

Thank you. It is heartening to receive such feedback – and yes, you certainly have good reason to be very proud of your father and his service.

I was unaware he had been awarded the BEM, so I have added that over in the ‘Details’ column.

I have left the rank of Sgt where it has been entered as that column shows the rank on embarkation, but over in the ‘Last Known Rank’ column I have shown his rank as WO2. The amended spreadsheet will be uploaded shortly.

An email is also on it’s way to you confirming that I have replied to your post.

      Thanks again ..

      Cheers

      Dale
