Our Women Who Served
The Royal New Zealand Army Nursing Service site lists the N Z Army Nursing Service (NZANS) and the N Z Women’s Army Auxilliary Corps (NZWAAC) rolls.
Currently this website is unaccessible.
The latter was integrated with the NZANS in 1947. It also includes the rolls for J-Force from 1946 to 1948.

Excerpts from the book, 100 Years New Zealand Military Nursing, I know you will find fascinating. I too, found the section on our military hospitals and the hospital ships of special interest.
Rolls for WWII and J-Force members of the N.Z.A.N.S. and W.A.A.C. are maintained here (four rolls in all), together with Rolls of Honour for those who died on active service.
This page lists recipients of Honours and Awards.
Those who served either with the N.Z.A.N.S. or the W.A.A.C. are noted in Column E on the Freedoms Call Roll of Honour .
Note: Not all who served, are listed on the rolls of the New Zealand Military Nursing website.
I have managed to extrapolate a listing of those women who are listed on the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Freedoms Call Roll of Honour. Unfortunately the wives of some men who served should perhaps also be included (I have a few names in the Details column, but only under their married names and many of these I could not track on the NZANS website, so unfortunately, I am unable to include them). In the ‘Details’ column, you may also find included names of other family members who served, whether in NZ, or overseas. They have been highlighted in blue.

Hi,
I’m trying to find any information about my mother..
Marjorie Naurine Heather Jensen , Born 6/7/1918 and died 3/10/2005.
She married Patrick Henry Bartle
She served at the New Plymouth Air Base in 1939 at the age of 21.
Any information would be much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Brent Bartle.
I’m sorry Brent .. other than what is shown on the Auckland Cenotaph record I cannot assist. I see that the NZANS and WAAC website is down and has been for some months.
